President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election, describing the outcome as “an affirmation of visionary leadership” and pledging closer collaboration between the Federal Government and Anambra State.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Soludo, candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), winner of Saturday’s off-cycle poll after he swept all 21 local government areas of the state.
In a statement personally signed and released on Sunday, President Tinubu commended the people of Anambra, security agencies, and INEC for the peaceful conduct of the election. He also lauded the new INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, urging the commission to maintain the standards set in the exercise.
“Professor Soludo’s re-election is a testament to his visionary leadership and the significant progress the state has made under his guidance,” Tinubu said. “He has demonstrated that knowledge is power and that academic principles can drive accountability, transparency, and prudent management of resources.”
The President recalled his visit to Anambra in May, where he inaugurated several projects executed by the Soludo administration, praising the governor’s “discipline, brilliance, and fresh perspective to governance.”
Reaffirming federal support, Tinubu urged Soludo to be magnanimous in victory and to seek the cooperation of his opponents in the interest of continued peace and development in the state.
