At an age when many of his peers are still figuring out what they love, 15-year-old Otuorkhia Osikemen Solace already has a clear direction, and a growing reputation in French football. Born on March 2, 2010, in Soissons, France, Solace has steadily climbed the ranks from schoolyard kickabouts to the competitive world of youth football.
His first connection with the game was instant. “Football gave me a reason to be excited for school,” he says, remembering how, at just five years old, he would eagerly put on his boots right after kindergarten. That same year, he joined Amiens Picardie Football Club, taking his first real steps into structured football.
Solace spent half a decade at the grassroots club, honing his basic skills and falling deeper in love with the game. But even then, he had the mindset of a professional. “The competition wasn’t strong, and I realized I needed a bigger challenge,” he explains.
In 2020, that challenge came in the form of US Camon, where he was slotted into the Under-11 squad. Initially placed in the second team, it didn’t take long for his talent to stand out. His work rate, finishing ability, and tactical awareness earned him a spot in the top team and later recognition from the Somme departmental team, an early indicator of his rising profile.
Solace continued to push boundaries, participating in national-level scouting events like the Liévin Hope Pole trials. Although he narrowly missed out on the final selection, the experience opened doors. His performance there impressed scouts from Amiens Sporting Club, who invited him for a trial.
He made the most of that opportunity. “I gave it everything I had, and it worked,” Solace recalls. He was officially signed ahead of the 2023/2024 season. Over the next two seasons, he gained valuable match experience, grew in confidence, and developed his game in a more professional environment.
Yet, true to his forward-thinking nature, Solace decided it was time for a new chapter. At the close of the 2024/2025 season, he transferred to FC Portugais d’Amiens, a club where he believes he can take his game to the next level.
Beyond club football, his name is beginning to circulate among international scouts, particularly from Nigeria. Though born in France, Solace has Nigerian heritage, and football agents based in Europe are closely monitoring his progress. One of them, Netherlands-based Princewill, is in discussions that could one day see Solace don the green and white of the Super Eagles.
Now donning the No. 9 jersey at FC Portugais d’Amiens, Solace is focused on improving his game, one match at a time. With raw talent, relentless drive, and dual national interest, the path ahead looks promising for the teenage striker. Whether he rises through the ranks in France or answers the call of his ancestral homeland, Otuorkhia Solace is a name to remember.
