Former Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) Abubakar Malami says he has been invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and will honour the summons.
In a brief statement posted on his Facebook page, Malami said his decision to comply reflects his commitment to accountability and transparency in public service.
“I hereby reaffirm my commitment to honour the invitation,” he wrote. “I understand the spirit of accountability and transparency in public service — the principles that I both advocate and champion.”
Malami added that he will keep Nigerians informed as developments unfold, stressing that he remains committed to openness in matters of public trust.
The former AGF has recently been in the spotlight over rising political tension in Kebbi State. On September 1, his convoy was attacked by suspected political thugs in Birnin Kebbi. He later petitioned top security agencies — including the NSA, IGP, DSS, Immigration and Civil Defence — alleging a plot to destabilise the state through the importation of thugs.
