Legendary boxer Mike Tyson, 58, is set to face Jake Paul, 27, in a highly anticipated bout despite a significant age gap of 31 years. Tyson enters the ring with a weight advantage, although official weigh-in results remain undisclosed after the fighters stepped on the scales behind closed doors.
For reference, Tyson weighed 233 pounds in his final professional fight against Kevin McBride, while Paul, a cruiserweight fighter, is expected to weigh around 220 pounds.
Originally scheduled for July, the fight was postponed after Tyson suffered a health scare caused by an infected ulcer. Now, the bout is set to feature eight two-minute rounds with 14-ounce gloves instead of the standard 10-ounce gloves.
The fight will take place at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas, in front of an estimated crowd of 75,000. Before the opening bell, Tyson and Paul will hold a final public weigh-in at the stadium.
In Nigeria, fans can catch the fight live on Netflix. The main event is scheduled to begin at 2 AM Nigerian time on Saturday, November 16, 2024.
This fight will be recorded on both fighters’ professional records, making it an official contest despite the unique terms.
