Elon Musk, Tesla and X CEO has thrown his weight behind Donald Trump in the US presidential race. He made an appearance at Trump’s comeback Butler, Pennsylvania rally Saturday and took the opportunity to call the election a “must-win situation.”
“President Trump must win to preserve the Constitution. He must win to preserve democracy in America,” said Musk, who endorsed Trump after the July 13 assassination attempt. “This is a must-win situation.”
During his remarks, Musk referred to the moment 20-year-old shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire from an unsecured rooftop nearby before being fatally shot by snipers.
We had one president who couldn’t climb a flight of stairs and another who was fist-pumping after getting shot. So who do you want representing America?” he said.
“America is the home of the brave, and there’s no truer test than courage under fire,” he added.
Musk also took the time to encourage the crowd to vote saying, “nothing is more important” while claiming a win for Democrats would mean the “last election.”
Musk has been a strong supporter throughout Trump’s presidential campaign frequently posting on social media about his praise for the Republican nominee while attacking Democrats and Vice President Kamala Harris.
In September, Musk came under fire for asking on Xwhy former President Donald Trump has faced two suspected assassination attempts while President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have been overlooked.
“And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala,” Musk wrote in the now-deleted post, according to CNN.
Trump suggested in August during an interview on X that he would give Musk a government position.
Musk volunteered to join a prospective “government efficiency commission.”
“You’re the greatest cutter,” Trump told Musk. “I need an Elon Musk — I need somebody that has a lot of strength and courage and smarts. I want to close up the Department of Education, move education back to the states.”
