Egypt and Ghana gave football fans a match to remember as they played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group B clash at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan on Thursday night. In other words, It was like a final.
Egypt, despite losing Mohamed Salah to injury fought back to draw 2-2 with Ghana last night. Whenever they were a goal behind, they played like wounded lions.
The encounter sparked into life on the stroke of half-time when the seven-time AFCON champions fell behind to Mohamed Kudus’ stunning opener for the Black Stars of Ghana.
The first half which wasn’t really exciting made way for a breathtaking second period, with three goals in the space of five minutes and 10 seconds. It was an end to end stuff and the neutrals loved it. In short, it was a good advertisement for African football.
