In the picture above are My dad, Alhaji Yakubu Mohammed, MKO Abiola, my mum Hon. Rekiyat Mohammed and Simbiat Abiola. June 12 was 12 days ago, but the picture isn’t about Abiola, one of the richest black men in the world at the time. This picture is about the baby he’s carrying. That baby was Usman, my big brother. And yesterday was his birthday.
He is a creative. A brilliant mind behind the camera. He also has acting skills but never makes himself the star of any of his shows. He gives room for others to shine. Many people in the entertainment industry have used his various platforms as launching pads for their respective careers.

He doesn’t hoard connections. Always willing to help. If he knows Dangote and you say you want to meet him, he would find a way to connect you.

He’s been selfless right from childhood. While in secondary school (FGC Ijanikin), I used to get into trouble with senior students but he always bailed me out. He wasn’t only my big brother, but also a big brother to those who didn’t have senior brothers in that school. He was the go-to-guy for many junior students who got into trouble. Those who attended boarding school know that ‘taxing’ was for senior students. In my brother’s case, it was the other way round. Junior students used to ‘tax’ him.
Apart from having a reputation for being a kind senior, he’s up there when it comes to socials. One moment he’s breaking bricks on fire with his hands during a Karate demonstration, and the next, he’s miming Jarule’s ‘’Between me & You’’ and DMX’s Party Up. As an Art Student, he was always willing to participate in school dramas. That was what made him delve into the entertainment industry later in life.

As a student of UNILAG, the camera was his friend. Before skits were popular, he was already making them effortlessly. But there was no social media at the time. They were aired on stations like SilverBird TV and MITV. He has been involved in several breakfast shows on some TV stations. Like I said, he’s about getting the job done, not the publicity that is attainable with the terrain.
Despite relocating out of Nigeria, he hasn’t stopped helping those who are interested in acting or producing. Feel free to consult him.
