A Federal High Court sitting in Damaturu, Yobe State capital, has affirmed Bashir Sheriff Machina as the authentic candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Yobe North senatorial district in the 2023 elections.
The position is currently held by Ahmad Lawan, Senate President who returned to claim the ticket from Machina after losing the APC presidential ticket to Bola Tinubu.
INEC had refused to publish name of the authentic candidate of the party pending the court ruling
