Senator Elisha Abbo of the All Progressives Congress who represents Adamawa North in the National Assembly has been accused of sending thugs in the company of his police orderly, Sgt. Nicholas Danfali to beat up Mr. Silas Daniel Gasu, a member of the main opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
Daniel Gasu, a former aide to Abbo, who is an entrepreneur with keen interest in politics, hails from Fali ward in Mubi North Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
To celebrate the yuletide season, there is usually a football competition called the Fali Unity Football Cup and a Cultural Dance orgainzied by the locals. The Columnist Ng gathered that it is big event in that area.

Speaking with The Columnist Ng from an undisclosed location where he is currently receiving treatment, Daniel Gasu said, “I am one of the organizers of this event and i do this every year to foster peaceful coexistence among Fali youths who cut across different divides to spend their holidays at home.”
“Naturally, programs as such will attract politicians and leaders who are craving for recognition as the major sponsors of this event.
“Between 15th – 20th of December, 2021 someone called me with a hidden number and warned me to suspend this year’s event or risk my life, “Why?” I asked. He said the program should die naturally, as I’ve switched loyalty to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
“He threatened to exterminate me, he pointedly told him that he would give me same treatment he meted on Hon Yakubu Musa Dirbishi’s that I know his capacity. He claimed that nobody will do him anything that, he has influence posting of the present Deputy Commissioner Of Police in charge of State CID, Adamawa State Police Command that even the Commissioner of Police and DSS Director are on his payroll.

“SIA’s boy by name ‘Governor Sanusi’ threatened to disrupt the program and even bet with his life , that the program will not hold since i’m no longer with them.

“I ignored them and continued thinking that it was an empty threat. But the threat was actualize towards middle of the football competition, I noticed strange faces who were stirring at me, I then moved closer to Sarkin Vimtim and the Former DSS Director, thinking that I’ll be safe in case of any eventuality. It didn’t take long when the Senator’s Police Orderly in company of thugs stormed the event, they removed my cap and started beating me, all this happened in presence of Vimtim Traditional Ruler and Francis Faruk Director of DSS (rtd).

“They macheted my head, my back and stripped me almost necked, leaving only boxers on me.
“They carted away my handbag containing money, N200,000, two iPhones, one iTel phone and one Nokia phone
“I was beaten to a pulp and I became unconscious for almost three hours. I found myself in the hospital bed and I was told that some youths came and rescued me from there hands that they have to resist them despite arming themselves with lethal weapons.”
Efforts to speak to his media aide, Mr. Sanusi Gaya at the time of filing this report failed as his phone was switched off.
