Tuoyo Dudu is the founder and CEO of Tudu energy and he is on a mission to light up Africa. On his journey to provide renewable energy for slums in Africa, he has decided to start with the riverine communities in Nigeria, his country.
Tudu energy is providing renewable energy and clean water for off-grid and undeserved communities which will bring about development.
In October 2020, Dudu and his team visited Dongo Community in Lagos to launch their first mini off grid energy hub.
Speaking of his visit to the community, the young entrepreneur said “In a few years, our communities will have access to clean, affordable and reliable energy supply with decentralized renewable. Excitedly counting down to launching our first mini off grid energy hub for Dongo Community in Lagos, Nigeria”
In December, they officially commissioned Dongo Energy hub with the King, members of the CDA and residents of the community.
Last month (March) Dudu and his team also visited Bukuma community in Degema Local Government of Rivers State, Nigeria. The King, royal council, community leaders, youths and everyone gladly welcomed their presence with expectations of great things to come.
The humanitarian said “For way too long, my home the petroleum rich region of the Niger Delta (aka the Oil Rivers which is the mainstay of the Nigerian economy and one of the wealthiest regions in Africa in terms of natural resources) has suffered deep environmental and social neglect due to corruption, militancy and apathy from some unpatriotic indigenes, governments and multinationals.”
“The past remains the past. The future is what we are here to shape. We do not fear the unknown for we know that we are the light of the world. It is our mandate to do the needful which is to light up the riverine communities of the Niger Delta and provide 24/7 affordable renewable energy and clean portable water for all our people because it is the least they deserve and by God’s grace we will do this and more.”
